Joan of Arc was a farmgirl who heard voices. She went to the King of France and became general of His army, and saved the country from war. Afterwards, she was burned at the stake, accused of witchcraft, but was later ordained as a virgin and saint. Many years after her death, she became the patron saint of soldiers, and of France.
